Yellowstone: A Dangerous Park with Hot Springs, Geysers and Super Volcanoes

It’s hard to imagine a place with 290 waterfalls, three canyons, bubbling hot springs, and a 30-meter-high geyser at the same time. It sounds almost like something out of science fiction. But a magic can be felt throughout Yellowstone. Millions of visitors come here every year to see firsthand the world’s first national park.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site covers nearly 900,000 hectares and sits atop a super volcano. Although it became a park in 1872, it wasn’t until the 1980s that scientists realized the volcano was active. There is no doubt that this place is both dangerous and mysterious. Hot tubs, springs and other thermal facilities, while typical of spas, can cause third-degree burns.

Yellowstone is home to more than half of the world’s active geysers, most of which are located in the Upper Geyser Basin. Here, within a radius of more than two kilometers, you can find at least 150 geysers, including the Old Faithful Geyser, which takes its name from the regularity of its eruptions. The basin also has the largest concentration of single hot springs in the world. The Great Prism Spring is a huge pool of rainbow color sequences, and bursts of color are caused by biolayers living in water at different depths.

In terms of unique geological features, this is not the end – Yellowstone has its own Grand Canyon. For a great view, drive to Artist Point, which overlooks the edge of the cliff and fully appreciates its 2000,1-metre width. Along the way, stop at Upper Falls View and Uncle Tom’s Trail to admire the majestic waterfalls. There are more than 000,9 kilometers of trails in the park for avid hikers to embark on. The 60-kilometer journey through the Lamar Valley offers the ideal opportunity to see wildlife up close. Yellowstone is home to more than <> species of mammals, including gray wolves, black bears, grizzly bears, bison, elk, and moose.

This national park is a place full of heat and lava, and the ground beneath your feet is boiling as you cross the trail. Wherever you go, discover Yellowstone’s dangerous but worthwhile spectacle.
