If you are planning to visit Jerash from Amman, it is very easy. You can catch a bus from the North Bus Station, which takes only 45 to 60 minutes and costs only 1 Jordanian dinar per person. These buses depart when they are full, but don’t worry – the wait isn’t too bad considering the affordability of this option.
Alternatively, taxis are also available, with prices ranging from 10 to 15 Jordanian dinars, depending on your negotiation skills.
When is the best time to visit Jerash?
In my opinion, the ideal time to visit Jerash, Jordan is from February to May. When I went in February, it was a bit cold outside, but there were significantly fewer tourists than in high season! In addition, visitors can conveniently visit all the sights at this time of year without too much hassle.
However, if you have more flexibility with your travel dates and want a better experience – March or April would be the perfect month to plan your trip
How much does it cost to enter Jerash?
If you plan to visit the archaeological site of Jerash, don’t forget that there is a fee. But it’s not too bad – about 12 JD (about $17) for adults, and only 15 JD (about $6) for children under 5. Plus, if you have a Jordan Pass, your entrance fee is included!
As you explore this incredible ancient site, why not take part in some workshops or cultural experiences? You can learn how to cook traditional dishes or try pottery. Prices vary depending on the activity you choose and its duration, but are generally 20-50 Jordanian dinars (about $28 to $70) per person. It’s worth every penny, though – trust us!
Do Jerash have tours?
Absolutely! You can easily find a local guide who will take you around the fascinating historical sites of Jerash. The cost usually ranges from 40 Jordanian dinars to 80 Jordanian dinars (about $56 to $115), depending on the length and level of detail you want to travel. I found my guide at the entrance – there are plenty of locals available to help and happy to help.
