Cruising Through the Golden Gates of These Incomparable Heights

Huge rock formations bathed in sunlight erupt from Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Are they ochre, amber, or rose? Their paintings can still be found in the park. Under the guidance of a traditional healer, follow the Herbal Route to discover the medicinal properties of the plant that has been used for centuries. This intrinsic knowledge provides a unique perspective on the surrounding environment.

At the Basotho Cultural Village, locals welcome visitors into a corral designed to give visitors an insight into their lifestyle. Once the chief agrees, the guide will lead guests through the village, introducing them to well-known figures in the community. Kneel in front of the bone-throwing man and ask him to tell you fortunes, or play the traditional game of Morabaraba. There’s no better way to get to know a place than by interacting with locals.
